HIBAPRESS – Mohammed Daher
Last Saturday night, a huge fire broke out at a random agricultural waste dump on the Airport Road in the Ait Melloul region of Agadir. This incident mobilized civil defense elements, local authorities, and the Royal Gendarmerie.
Upon being notified of the incident, civil defense teams immediately commenced field interventions to contain the flames and bring them under control, while taking necessary measures to limit the spread of the fire.
The firefighting and mobilization operations continued until the early hours of Sunday morning, amidst the readiness of various concerned departments, which worked continuously to surround and extinguish the fire in a race against time.
Sources for the newspaper suggested that the excessive temperature experienced in Agadir and its surroundings might be behind the ignition of the fire at the dump, which contains many flammable materials. Meanwhile, the authorities have initiated investigations to determine the true causes behind this incident.
