An elderly woman died on Sunday morning after a devastating fire broke out in the "Ras El Ain" area, near the "Dar Debbagh" neighborhood in Beni Mellal city.
Upon being notified of the incident, civil defense elements and local authorities rushed to the scene. Firefighting teams intervened quickly to extinguish the flames and prevent their spread to neighboring districts, especially since the area is known for its trees and vegetation due to its proximity to Ain Asserdoun and Ain Tamkount. The body of the deceased was transferred to the morgue.
Security services, under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, have also opened an urgent judicial investigation to determine all the circumstances and details surrounding the incident and to uncover the real causes behind the outbreak of this devastating fire.
In the same context, the governor of the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region, Mohamed Benrbak, attended the fire scene. He closely followed the extinguishing operations and interventions carried out by civil defense elements, alongside police services and competent authorities.
