Najma Amzghar, from the Authenticity and Modernity Party, has been elected as the new head of the Ait Qamra commune in the Al Hoceima province. This took place during the election session for the head of the communal council, held on Thursday, October 8, 2026. The position became vacant following the death of the former president, the late Mohamed Alaoui.
Amzghar's election came after a competition involving three candidates: Najma Amzghar from the Authenticity and Modernity Party, Sadik Asrih from the Socialist Union of Popular Forces Party, and Ismail Belhoussain from the National Rally of Independents Party, according to the published nomination data.
The election of the new president marks a new phase in managing the affairs of the Ait Qamra commune, following the departure of former president Mohamed Alaoui. The communal council faces files and issues related to local development, public administration, and responding to the residents' expectations.
The upcoming period is expected to focus on continuing to manage the commune's ongoing projects and open files, and strengthening institutional work to serve the residents' interests and keep pace with the region's needs.
