HIBAPRESS – Mohammed Zerriouh
Anger and discontent are spreading among the residents of Driouch's new neighborhood due to the dangerous deterioration of one of the city's most important main streets, specifically the section in front of the grand taxi station. This vital artery has transformed into a black spot that troubles road users and pedestrians alike.
This area, a true facade of the city and a strategic transportation artery, is suffering from deep potholes, water puddles, and mud that obstruct traffic flow. This has clearly marred the general appearance of the new city and raised sharp questions about the effectiveness of urban regeneration programs and the quality control of essential infrastructure in the region.
The suffering of drivers, professionals, and the general public heading to the station intensifies daily. These irregularities have caused significant material damage to vehicles, not to mention the constant disruption to citizens' movement and its direct negative impact on commercial activity in the neighborhood, making visiting the station an ordeal filled with daily hardship.
Faced with this situation, local activists and residents have sent urgent appeals to the responsible authorities and elected councils, primarily the provincial and local authorities and the head of the municipal council, for immediate intervention and field assessment of this affected area. They emphasized that repairing the main street has become an urgent and non-negotiable demand.
Citizens are demanding the programming of urgent field intervention to repair and pave the road, along with the rehabilitation of the grand taxi station's surroundings according to standards that ensure the safety of pedestrians and drivers and enhance the urban aesthetics of Driouch, which aims to strengthen its infrastructure and overcome signs of fragility and neglect.
