HIBAPRESS – Follow-up
The floods that occurred around the Bouazar area in Zagora province on Friday evening turned into a fatal incident after a miner lost his life when his car was swept away in the Ait Hammad valley, near the village of Ait Ahmann, belonging to the Blida commune.
According to available data, the vehicle driven by the victim, belonging to one of the companies operating in the mine, could not withstand the force of the flowing water in the valley, resulting in the death of its driver. This incident occurred in a context characterized by rising water levels in several watercourses in the region.
The southeastern regions are known for their weather fluctuations, which can lead to a rapid rise in water levels, making it crucial to avoid crossing valleys during flash floods as a primary preventive measure to avoid similar accidents.
