HIBAPRESS – Rabat
There has been no talk among Moroccans in the last two days except about the delay in announcing the official formation of the government of Fatima Ezzahra Mansouri.
Mansouri, who has started a number of meetings and consultations following her appointment as head of the new government, has not yet reached a final agreement on the new formation due to negotiations and conditions from some party leaders.
Mansouri, according to private sources, found herself in an unenviable position after the statement made by PAM party leader Hicham El Migri on a television program, in which he confirmed their refusal to ally with the Independents.
El Migri's statement prompted a number of PAM leaders to adopt his position and announce it, whether publicly or behind the scenes, which led other party leaders to seize the opportunity to bargain with Mansouri and impose conditions described as "difficult" in exchange for joining her government.
Among the first party leaders, Nizar Baraka expressed his great happiness due to the Independents' non-participation in the government, and leveraged his electoral position to demand important ministerial portfolios in exchange for joining the majority.
For his part, the First Secretary of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces party, Idris Lachgar, conditioned the appointment of his daughter as a minister and obtaining a respectable number of ministerial portfolios in exchange for joining the government, a condition that remained under long negotiations with the head of government.
Has El Migri's statement caused the delay in announcing the birth of Mansouri's government?
