The Criminal Chamber of First Instance at the Court of Appeal in Al Hoceima has issued a death sentence against a man in his thirties, after he was found guilty of his involvement in the murder of his elderly grandfather, who was 101 years old. This incident shook a region in the outskirts of the Al-Nekor commune in the Al Hoceima province.
The details of the case go back to past months, when the region witnessed a violent incident within a single family. According to available information, the accused attacked his father and grandfather, under circumstances that resulted in the grandfather's death from his injuries, while the father sustained injuries.
Immediately after the incident, local authorities and security services mobilized their elements. An investigation was opened into the circumstances of the incident before the case was referred to the competent judiciary to consider the acts attributed to the accused.
The sentence issued by the Criminal Chamber of First Instance is part of the first stage of the judicial procedure, with the case remaining subject to the stages and legal procedures in force, in accordance with the legal provisions governing litigation.
