HIBAPRESS – Rabat
The female presence in the new government formation has been highlighted through Fatima Ezzahra Mansouri assuming the position of Head of Government, alongside six other women entrusted with governmental responsibilities, including two ministries and four appointed ministerial portfolios, according to the official lineup announced on October 16, 2026.
The list includes Charafat Afellal, who was assigned the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Sustainable Development, and Najwa Koutoubi, heading the Ministry of Family, Solidarity, Equality and Social Development, in addition to Qaloub Fitouh, the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament and Civil Society, and Madicha Khayyer, in charge of Vocational Training and Qualification.
The formation also includes Fatima Saadi, the Minister Delegate in charge of Housing and Urban Policy, and Aicha Kilaa, in charge of Administrative Reform, alongside Fatima Ezzahra Mansouri, who is heading the executive body.
Counting the Head of Government within the total of 32 members, the percentage of women reaches approximately 22 percent, compared to 25 men. This means that women hold seven positions within the governmental team, including the position of Head of Government.
The appointment of a woman as Head of Government gives the new formation a distinction in terms of women's representation in the highest executive office. However, measuring their presence within the executive authority is not limited to the number of names, but also includes the nature of the sectors assigned to them, the level of responsibilities granted to them, and the extent of their presence in economic and social sectors with a direct impact on public policies.
