HIBAPRESS – Abdelatif Barka
In a move aimed at accelerating the development of the maritime fisheries sector and strengthening its contribution to the national economy, Ahmed El Mehdi Mewari, the Minister Delegate in charge of Maritime Fisheries, held a meeting today, Tuesday, October 20, with ministry officials and directors of affiliated institutions. The meeting was dedicated to reviewing the sector's roadmap for the period 2025-2027, and assessing the progress of its programs and projects.
The meeting provided an opportunity to emphasize the necessity of conducting a comprehensive assessment of the level of implementation of programmed commitments, monitoring achieved objectives, and identifying obstacles and practical measures to accelerate the completion of outlined projects.
This step is of particular importance given the strategic position of maritime fisheries in the national economy, its role in providing job opportunities, stimulating industries related to marine products, boosting exports, and contributing to regional development.
The Minister also called for considering the preparation for organizing a national conference on maritime fisheries, as a forum for consultation and exchange of visions among various stakeholders, and an opportunity to address the challenges facing the sector and explore its development prospects.
This path is expected to be an important milestone in strengthening coordination between institutions and stakeholders, which will help in developing practical solutions that support the sector's competitiveness and ensure the sustainability of its marine resources.
