US President Donald Trump warned on Tuesday that Europe faces the risk of extinction if it does not change its immigration policies, directing sharp criticism at France, which he said is not achieving any growth due to its social programs and immigration policies.
Trump said during an event at the White House: "France is not achieving any growth and is going in the opposite direction, and the reason for that is that its social programs are extremely harsh. Some people see my words as a bit controversial, but I don't care, it's the immigration problem."
He continued: "People have entered France without control and without fully vetting their backgrounds, just as happened during Biden's era. Europe must change its ways. Europe faces the risk of extinction if it does not change its immigration policy."
He added: "I don't know Marine Le Pen (leader of the parliamentary group of the right-wing National Rally party in France) and I haven't met her, but I thought she was treated badly. What happened seems to me like using the judiciary as a political weapon. It seemed to me that Le Pen was leading the scene, but after what happened, she is certainly the conservative voice."
