The Zawiya of Sheikh Ma' al-Ainain in the province of Smara hosted, on Thursday, October 22, 2026, a scientific meeting on the system of values and ethics in the noble Prophetic biography, as part of the activities scheduled to celebrate the first anniversary of Unity Day, with the participation of a group of scholars, academics, and local figures.
The meeting highlighted the educational and humanitarian dimensions of the Prophetic biography, and the principles it contains that contribute to refining individual behavior, strengthening social bonds, and consolidating values of solidarity and family and societal cohesion, in addition to preserving religious and national constants.
The event was attended by the Governor of Smara province, Dr. Ibrahim Boutoumillat, along with an official delegation that included elected officials, tribal leaders, and notables from the Sahrawi tribes, as well as civilian and military figures, in a meeting that recalled the spiritual and scientific status of religious Zawiyas in the Moroccan Sahara.
The proceedings of the meeting began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome speech delivered by the custodian of the Zawiya, Mr. El Ni'ma Ennawy, in which he highlighted the roles of this institution in preserving religious and educational heritage, caring for the memorization of the Holy Quran, and educating generations on virtuous morals and authentic Islamic values.
The program also included a collective recitation of Quranic verses and the performance of prophetic praises, in a spiritual atmosphere that evoked the connection of religious Zawiyas to the scientific and spiritual memory of the region, and their historical contribution to spreading Sharia knowledge and promoting values of moderation and uprightness.
For his part, the President of the Local Scientific Council of Smara province, Mr. Mohamed Salem Babouzid, affirmed in his introductory speech the importance of recalling the Prophetic biography as a practical model for emulation and a source of guiding values for individual and collective behavior. He also touched upon the attention given by the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to the noble Prophetic biography and the promotion of its teachings in religious and educational life.
The scientific aspect constituted a primary focus in the symposium's program, through three interventions that addressed the connection of Prophetic values to religious guidance, educational upbringing, and strengthening social relations.
In the first intervention, Dr. Al-Hussein Ait Said, a member of the Supreme Scientific Council, presented a reading on the topic of "A Reading of the Content of the Royal Message on the occasion of the 15th centenary of the birth of the Chosen One, peace be upon him," addressing its scientific and spiritual implications and the importance of emulating the Prophetic model in building individual and collective behavior on solid ethical foundations.
Dr. Mimoun Barish, a professor of higher education at the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences in Marrakech, addressed the topic of "Educational Applications of Prophetic Values through the Biography and their Impact on Preserving National Cohesion," highlighting the role of values derived from the noble biography in developing a spirit of citizenship and strengthening national belonging and solidarity among the components of society.
In the third intervention, Dr. Abdelrahman El Omrani, a professor of higher education at the same faculty, discussed the topic of "The Prophetic Biography and Consolidating Guiding Values for Building the Muslim Family," shedding light on the role of the Prophetic guidance in regulating family relationships and consolidating affection, mercy, and mutual respect, thereby supporting family stability and sound upbringing.
The proceedings of this scientific activity, organized by the Local Scientific Council of Smara province in cooperation with the Provincial Directorate of Islamic Affairs, concluded with the submission of a telegram of allegiance and loyalty to the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory.
The telegram included prayers for His Majesty the King's protection and success, and for God to gladden his eyes with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, and to strengthen him with his brother His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid and the rest of the noble Royal Family, with prayers for the Kingdom of Morocco for continued security and stability.
