HIBAPRESS – Mohamed Daher
The services of the National Agency for Water and Forests and elements of the Royal Gendarmerie in Ourika, in the province of El Haouz, managed to seize shipments of soil and stones in the Imin Taddart area, as part of two separate interventions aimed at monitoring suspicious activities in forest areas.
Available data indicates that the first operation, which was initiated by the agency's services last Thursday, resulted in the seizure of about 10 bags of these materials, amid suspicions of their containing precious metals and their relation to illegal prospecting activities.
In the same context, Royal Gendarmerie elements stopped a car loaded with similar materials. An inspection of the car led to the seizure of an additional 15 bags, bringing the total seized quantity in both operations to about 25 bags.
These interventions come in the context of efforts to monitor the exploitation of natural resources in forest areas, while the nature of the seized materials and the circumstances surrounding their transport remain the subject of investigation by the competent authorities.
