HIBAPRESS – Khalil Fezazi
The Guelmim-Oued Noun region is preparing to host the events of the heritage "Tan-Tan Season," the most prominent annual gathering for the desert nomads, which constitutes a dual station combining authenticity, historical roots, and the richness of authentic Hassani culture.
This cultural season is an exceptional annual meeting point where more than thirty tribes from various regions of southern Morocco convene, alongside delegations and representatives from multiple regions of the Sahel and Sahara countries, in a scene that embodies the depth of human connection and cultural integration between the peoples of the region.
The Tan-Tan Season, classified as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, serves as a living space to highlight the region's attributes, host fantasia shows, traditional camel races, as well as artistic and literary evenings that revive the heritage of the nomadic Bedouins and preserve their collective memory from oblivion.
The continued organization of this significant heritage event will enhance the cultural and tourist influence of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region and affirm the status of the city of Tan-Tan as the capital of the customs and traditions of the Sahrawi people, and a primary destination for the preservation of oral and intangible heritage at the national and international levels.
