Conclusion of the Moroccan-American military exercise “Arcane Thunder 24” in Agadir

The Moroccan-American military exercise “Arcane Thunder 24” ended today, Wednesday, at the headquarters of the Southern Command in Agadir.

This joint exercise was organized, in execution of the high instructions of His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, from August 5 to 14 in Agadir, Guelmim, Cap Draa and Tan-Tan.

The second edition of the “Arcane Thunder 24” exercise, which took place for the first time in Morocco, saw the participation of around 300 people.

These maneuvers, which included two phases, the first phase of academic courses and the second phase of implementation, included land, air and maritime training in areas related to electronic warfare and cybersecurity.

This exercise, whose closing ceremony took place in the presence of Lieutenant General Mohammed bin El Wali, Chief of Staff of the Southern Region, and Lieutenant General John Rafferty, Commander-in-Chief of the 56th Artillery Command of the US Army, allowed the use of several advanced equipment, including aerial and maritime drones, in addition to high-altitude balloons.

Exercise Arcane Thunder 24 is a precisely synchronised electronic warfare exercise that aims to enhance military capabilities and strengthen cooperation, understanding and coordination between the Royal Armed Forces and the US Army to address common challenges.

It is also a new opportunity to strengthen cooperation and highlight the long-term partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America.
