Moroccan rugby makes a strong comeback: Morocco promises great success for the African Rugby Championship it will host

From November 18 to 24, Morocco will host the African Rugby Championship, preliminary round Group B.

The Royal Moroccan Rugby Federation has announced that Morocco has been chosen to host the African Championship, which will see the participation of Madagascar, Botswana, Cameroon and the host Morocco.

Morocco is honored to host this major African sporting event, which is part of the Enlightened Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the service of the African Continent and its youth, as well as in the context of the hosting by the Kingdom of Morocco of the most important international and global sporting events.

The FRMR press release reveals that Morocco is hosting this African championship in full compliance with the code of conduct of the African Rugby Federation.

The FRMR is committed to ensuring professional and quality conditions for the participating teams and the supporters who will follow the competition.

Alongside the African Rugby Championship for Group B, Tunisia will host the tournament for Group A, which includes Zambia, Nigeria and Ghana. The winners of the two groups will compete for places in the final round of the next Africa Cup, which is a qualifier for the Rugby World Cup.

The FRMR expressed its thanks to the African Rugby Federation for the trust placed in Morocco for the organization of the African Championship, thus guaranteeing a great success of the competition.

The FRMR also praised the important role of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool Education and Sports for its support and assistance in organizing the African Rugby Championship, which will be a significant and exceptional event that marks the strong return of Moroccan Rugby to the international and continental scene.

The efforts of the national Rugby family and its stakeholders to restore Rugby’s nobility and, moreover, to restore the reputation of the Kingdom of Morocco on the African continent are clearly visible.
