The administration of Ain Sebaa local prison has denied the allegations contained in the video published on social media by some relatives of the prisoner (RS), detained in Ain Sebaa 1 local prison, in which they claim that “their son attacked himself” in the neck and chest and attempted suicide by swallowing batteries due to his exposure.
The prison administration reported in a report that on 24 August 2024, the prisoner (RS) attacked himself with a sharp tool of his own manufacture on the arm, chest and neck. He was brought before the nurse of the institution, who introduced him. gave him first aid. A report was also drawn up on this subject and he was heard on the reasons for the attack he had suffered. He stated that he had done it for personal reasons.

Regarding the allegation by the prisoner’s sister that he was assaulted by an employee in front of her while he was enjoying a family visit, the same report adds that these are false and unfounded allegations, as shown by viewing the recordings from the surveillance cameras installed in the visiting rooms.
The same source added that the allegation that the reason for his attack on himself was due to the assault on him by one of the employees was also a false and baseless allegation, as a group of prisoners who lived with him in the same room at the Multispecialty Health Center indicated that the prisoner in question had been captured. He intended to attack himself in order to take him to the hospital.
The report states that the prisoner in question is receiving the necessary health care, as upon his admission to the institution, a fracture was found in his left leg following a road accident on the public highway, and he underwent surgery.
