Walid Regragui reveals the reason for Saiss’ exclusion from the Moroccan national team

National voter Walid Regragui has revealed the reasons for the absence of captain Romain Saiss from the list of the Moroccan national team for the matches between Gabon and Lesotho, in the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations, on September 6 and 9.

Walid Al-Ragraki said: “Saeed does not play and does not have minutes to compete, and his absence came to arrange his affairs.”

The coach of the Moroccan first national team added: “His replacement, Abdelhamid, quickly found the rhythm within Saint-Etienne. He is an experienced and disciplined player despite his advanced age. He attended the Cannes edition with us.

Romain Saiss was on the preliminary list for the matches against Gabon and Lesotho before being excluded from the final list by decision of coach Walid Regragui.

It should be noted that the Moroccan national team is automatically qualified for the 2025 African Cup, as organizer of the tournament, but it will participate in the qualifiers, in order to maintain its competitiveness, a system that CAF has adopted since previous years.
