The Hussein Dey court in the capital Algiers sentenced former president of the Rally for Culture and Democracy Mohsen Belabbes to 6 months in prison, for incidents linked to the death of a Moroccan worker at his home.

This judgment partially puts an end to this case, which its opposition party described as a restriction on its activities, while the prosecution confirmed that it is linked to the application of the law in a public law matter. which has nothing to do with politics.

According to the judgment, Mohsen Belabbes was sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment with a fine of 100,000 Algerian dinars, accompanied by a judgment to compensate the civil party, which is the commune of Constantine, where his residence is located. , to the tune of 50,000 Algerian dinars.

Lawyer Fatta Sadat, who handled the case from the beginning, said that the judgment was in accordance with the request of the prosecutor, who requested, during the trial held on March 17, 6 months of effective imprisonment and a fine of 100,000 Algerian dinars.
