Random markets and occupation of public property cause discontent among Sefrou residents
Heba Press _ Fez Office
At a time when the suffering of the residents of the city of Sefrou continues with the slow implementation of projects, even if they are few in number, and the delay in completing the city’s rehabilitation projects blocked due to the failure of the residents’ representatives to the community, “Changing the corrupt faces that have lived for a long time is the appropriate solution”, these daily problems resurface. Negativity undermines the hopes and dreams of the city’s residents and distorts the face of their metropolis.
Among the negative phenomena that have invaded a number of streets and alleys of the city of Sefrou, there is the appearance of a set of random markets to which hundreds of “butterflies” and street vendors go on pilgrimage, under the eyes of the authorities and the owners of yellow gel-packs who occupied the streets. There remains a question mark..! Who is responsible..? .
Like the well-known streets of the city, the places have been transformed into random markets, reflecting the degree of laxity and chaos that the city suffers from, with vendors resorting to setting up chaotic places on the main street and alleys, which has led to a distortion of the image. the aesthetics of the city, despite its small size, they have failed to overcome these phenomena in addition to obstructing traffic in the city and occupying cafes in the public domain under the eyes of officials.
Heba Press received shocking photos documenting scenes of chaos in Al-Salawi Street for street vendors, in Binfar, Sitti Masouda and Habouneh, and in the alleys that constitute one of the black spots, and the major calamity is the sale of missing items on the sides of the road, as is the case of the random weekly market, one of the black spots in the city, especially as the 2030 World Cup approaches and Sefrou, its infrastructure is still extremely fragile. The aforementioned market has turned the lives of nearby residents into something resembling hell, as residents find it difficult to reach or leave their homes.
Citizens were surprised by the way the authorities hid the occupants of the city’s public domain, horribly violated by butterflies and street vendors, while they comfortably continued their commercial activity.
Several residents of the city, in contact with Heba Press, called on the relevant authorities to intervene immediately to free Sefrou from the occupation of the public domain in most of its streets and alleys that derive from it, and to deal with all manifestations of chaos. and the occupation of the public domain, which are among the main reasons for the emergence of random markets so that Dar Lokman remains as it is. Nothing has changed in the city of Sefrou, the infrastructure is fragile, the elected officials are in permanent conflict. with each other, the community committee does not do its duty, and the biggest loser is the resident. The authority is not able to cover the problems mentioned.
