They reacted to the recent events in Fnideq and the desire of young people to move to Ceuta. Mohamed Ben Abdelkader, former Minister of Justice and leader of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces Party, confirmed that the intelligence services of the Kingdom’s eastern neighbor are involved in these events.
Benabdelkader said in a tweet on his official account with “X”: “I have no doubt that “Operation Castillejos”, which aimed to naively exploit the miners of the European Eldorado, was prepared by the intelligence services of the eastern neighbors, and was stupidly promoted by… social media activists.
The city of Fnideq has seen an influx of thousands of young people, adolescents and minors wishing to cross the land border to the city of Ceuta, in response to calls on social networks to make September 15 the date of a mass migration to Europe.
In response to this call, Moroccan authorities sent unprecedented security reinforcements, with hundreds of personnel and vehicles, in addition to eight ships, to the city of Fnideq.
A number of buses were also sent to the Ceuta border post to transport migrants who took part in the attempt to distant areas, while intercepting groups of people who attempted to swim across on the beaches of the town of Fnideq and the town of Blionche.
