A report from the Central Office of Judicial Research indicates that members of the Special Force of the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance initiated intervention and arrest procedures in separate operations, targeting suspects in the cities of Fez, Fnideq and the village community of “Ouled Ghanem” in the province of El Jadida.
The same source added that the searches carried out at the suspects’ homes resulted in the seizure of a group of electronic devices that will be subjected to the necessary digital expertise, as well as bladed weapons and the logo of the terrorist organization “ISIS” drawn on a piece of wood, in addition to manuscripts of an extremist nature.
According to preliminary investigations, the suspects pledged allegiance to the so-called caliph of the Islamic State and effectively engaged in preparing their terrorist plans by gaining experience in the field of preparing explosive devices, with the aim of implementing their sabotage plans, which targeted several vital interests in the Kingdom as part of “individual terrorism” operations.
The report states that the three suspects were placed in theoretical detention pending an investigation conducted by the Central Bureau of Judicial Research under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in charge of terrorism cases, in order to uncover all their terrorist plans and projects and to monitor possible intersections and connections that bring them closer to terrorist organizations outside Morocco.
