The Government Council approves a draft decree relating to the Customs and Indirect Taxes Code


The Government Council, meeting on Thursday, approved draft decree No. 2.24.295 relating to the application of the Customs and Indirect Taxes Code, presented by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Economy and Finance, responsible for of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa.

This draft decree aims to modify the provisions of Decree No. 2.77.862 relating to the application of the Customs and Indirect Taxes Code, falling under the Administration of Customs and Indirect Taxes, approved by the Dahir establishing Law No. 1.77. 339 dated 25 chaoual 1397 (October 9, 1977), indicated the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, during a press briefing after the council.

And specified that this project aims to make warehouse transfer procedures more flexible and simplified, in accordance with current practices of temporary admission regimes for the improvement of inward processing and transfer under customs control.

It thus implies the removal of the obligation to provide an exemption document in exchange for a deposit to cover the transit operation, because the goods to be transferred from one warehouse to another are already covered by the initial authorization with an approved guarantee, explained Mr. Baitas, noting that the lifting of the aforementioned guarantee is carried out only after the assignee has registered a declaration of assignment, by which the initial warehouse account, which is also covered by an approved guarantee, is liquidated.
