The cabaret regime in Algeria has dismissed the general director of television, appointed a few days ago, and has tasked the director of the national radio to temporarily manage television affairs while waiting for the appointment of a new director.

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune began his second term by appointing Adel Selakji as director of National Radio and appointing Mohamed Baghali as director of National Television.

Media personality and political activist Saeed Bensedira criticized the decision, saying there is a clear disconnect between the presidency of the Republic and the media and communications sector. Bensedira stressed that the decision has sparked great discontent within radio and television institutions, due to what he called hasty and ill-considered decisions that have negatively affected journalists, technicians and administrators.

The Algerian regime suffers from a state of chaos and confusion in the management of the media and communications sector, with some accusing the Algerian army of controlling all aspects of the state, leading to random and ill-considered decisions.
