Paris Saint-Germain has reached a new stage of escalation, increasing the scale of the crisis with its former star Kylian Mbappé, the repercussions of which have reached the official corridors of France.

According to the famous “RMC Sport”, Paris Saint-Germain has filed an official appeal asking the French Professional Football League (LFP) to reconsider the decision rendered in the case linking the club to Kylian Mbappé.

The French Professional Football League had previously ordered Paris Saint-Germain on September 12 to pay €55 million in financial charges and unpaid wages during his playing time with the French giant.

The league gave Paris Saint-Germain just eight days to pay the France team captain’s accumulated dues, but the club filed a formal appeal just one day before the deadline for paying the accumulated wages expired.

Kylian Mbappe’s crisis with Paris Saint-Germain began when the player refused to renew his contract, announcing his intention to leave for free during the transfer window last summer, while relations between the two parties became strained and the player sat as a substitute in many matches, which provoked a strong attack on the French club and its Spanish coach, Luis Enrique.

Despite numerous attempts to convince him to stay, Mbappe opted to leave for Real Madrid in the summer transfer window on a free transfer, before resorting to the legal committee of the French Professional Football League to claim his unpaid financial rights.

The League quickly organized a friendly meeting between representatives of Paris Saint-Germain and the player, but Mbappé refused to end the crisis with amicable solutions, continuing his journey on the legal path, which ended with the pronouncement of a judgment requiring him to obtain 55 million euros from the Parisian club.

The French League does not have the power to force Paris Saint-Germain to pay the disputed funds, but it has sufficient authority to impose sanctions on the French club, including depriving it of new contracts during the next transfer window.

For its part, Paris Saint-Germain claims to be under no obligation to pay any sum of money to Mbappé, especially since the latter has agreed to give up all bonuses before the start of the 2023-2024 season, in order to reintegrate him into the team, as the crisis between the two parties was at its highest level.
