In continuation of the security campaign launched by the Marrakech authorities on numerous nightclubs and shisha cafes, all of which have been the subject of complaints or information on human rights and the media.
The judicial police, accompanied by the head of the security district, Glez, and members of the 22nd district, searched the So club, affiliated with the Sofitel hotel, the Pekirian club, affiliated with the Saadi hotel, the Confidential club, the Pearl Hotel and nightclub 113. Surveillance was also carried out in front of the Shisha Cafe Miami.
In addition, human rights activists in the Red City welcomed this campaign, especially since these stores were known for their violations of the law and some of them have witnessed attacks on customers, especially since the treatment is based on discrimination and the allegation of influence relationships, which harms the image of the city when events take place, as happened when a police officer used his functional weapon to… prevent him from entering one of these amusement parks and when mass attacks occur.
The same activists called for the campaign to continue and for the need to include other stores that are still far from being accountable. They also called for the need to control licenses and the conditions for obtaining them, as well as to scrutinize the real owners of these amusement parks, with the need for tax controls and the application of labor law so that the city benefits from the income from these economic activities instead of laundering its money or even smuggling it.
