The surveillance services of the Agadir Maritime Fisheries Commission were able to intercept 6 traditional fishing boats operating off the coast of Taghazout due to their violation of laws regulating maritime fishing.
The Monitoring Service subsequently published reports regarding the fishing boats in question due to their participation in fishing at distances close to land, which are distances where fishing is prohibited and are subject to violations of controls in force.
Furthermore, the Delegation Department noted violations in accordance with the requirements of the Maritime Fisheries Law, in particular Chapter 6 of the Royal Decree, such as Law No. 1.73.255 of 27 Shawwal 1393 (November 23, 1973) regulating maritime fishing, which indicates the permanent ban on fishing in parts of the coast exploited by the State or which exercise legally authorized privileges there, and article 34, which punishes with imprisonment ranging from three months to one year and a fine ranging from 5,000 to 1,000,000 dirhams, or one of these two penalties, anyone who engages in maritime fishing during periods and seasons and in places and times prohibited, or fishing within the limits indicated on the maps given to fishermen by the competent authorities. .
