Tuesday, October 1, the regional Judicial Police service of Nador arrested a 42-year-old person suspected of involvement in the reporting of a false crime and of insulting the judicial police.
Details of the case trace back to the man found handcuffed in the city’s suburbs, claiming he had been kidnapped and a sum of money stolen by unknown persons after leaving a bank branch. However, technical and field investigations proved his statements false, as it turned out that he had fabricated the incident to avoid returning a sum of money he had borrowed from his brother.
The suspect was placed in theoretical custody for investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, while investigations continue to determine the identity of the other people involved.
