Heba Press – Nador
The Moroccan government has announced the launch of a call for expressions of interest to select consultants for the highway project linking Guercif to Nador.
This project, financed by the African Development Bank, aims to establish a road linking Guercif to Saka. This infrastructure will include several components, including bridges, transformers and service areas.
This call aims to hire consultants who will provide support to oversee various aspects of the project, including environmental, social, financial and legal monitoring.
The consultants will have to ensure good environmental and social management, while ensuring communication, financial management and respecting legal aspects.
Interested candidates must submit their application before November 20, 2024, accompanied by documents proving their experience and qualifications in similar projects. Eligibility and selection will also be regulated in accordance with African Development Bank rules.
This project is considered an essential step to improve transport infrastructure and strengthen connectivity between Guercif and Nador, which contributes to Morocco’s economic development.
The works related to technical support include the construction of a two-lane road (2×2 lanes) with a 2.50 meter wide emergency stopping lane and a 3 meter wide secondary road, on a length of 104.2 kilometers.
The works will also include fifteen bridges and 114 culverts, in addition to a crossroads at Saka and fifty-three restructurings, including a crossroads, a service area and a crossroads on the RN2 national road. The estimated duration of the work is approximately 48 months.
