HIBAPRESS-RABAT
It is obvious and as reported on the program of the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron, there will be contracts to sign concerning different sectors including among others certain places from which Morocco intends to benefit from the experience of France
But what France must know is that Morocco knows that the design of the New Development Model takes into account the national changes that are taking shape by 2035, so that Morocco can transform the issues and challenges that they raise development opportunities. Overall, future changes suggest increasingly complex development challenges, given the strengthening of interdependencies, a world operating more and more in a network with rapid contagion effects, both economic and social, and also the growing technological sophistication on many aspects, not fully mastered.
The changes already underway and those to come also reveal an uncertain world with unpredictable developments, which emphasizes the imperative of agility, far from any dogmatism, and anticipatory risk management. .
At the national level, our country is called upon to face profound transformations at several levels which would condition its development trajectory.
Demographically, the active population is set to grow with more and more young job seekers, thus exerting additional pressure on the labor market. In addition, the Moroccan population is showing a tendency to age, thus influencing the absorption capacity of health and social protection systems.
At the social level, the growing openness to the world thanks to the media and social networks brings new expectations and aspirations, particularly in terms of freedom of expression. Finally, sedentary lifestyle, the adoption of consumption patterns that are not respectful of food and ecological balance, as well as pollution, would cause significant challenges in terms of health and well-being.
In the territories, the acceleration of urbanization and the increased coastalization of economic and human activities would accentuate the challenges in terms of city governance, mobility and regional planning to meet a growing demand for public services.
On the environmental level, the accentuation of the effects of climate change would create strong constraints on national biodiversity and pressure on natural resources, more particularly water, which Morocco could lack by 2030.
Climate change could also accentuate the forced displacement of populations from arid rural areas to urban centers, particularly on the coast.
