The Valencia Club has asked the Spanish Football Federation to postpone its Copa del Rey match scheduled for Wednesday against the Parla Escuela in Madrid, due to flooding.
The Spanish Meteorological Agency declared a state of maximum alert in eastern Valencia on Tuesday as firefighters rescued people trapped in floodwaters from Hurricane Dana.
“The club considers that the postponement is the most appropriate measure due to the dangerous conditions we are experiencing in Valencia as a result of Hurricane Dana,” the club said on the X platform.
Valencia, last in the Spanish rankings, is expected to host rival Real Madrid on Saturday.
