The representative of France to the Security Council confirmed that his country rejected all the amendments proposed by Algeria concerning the tasks of MINURSO, and that France considers that there is no future for the Sahara unless under Moroccan sovereignty.
He continued: “For now, the Moroccan initiative is the only available framework. »
In his speech before the Moroccan Parliament last Tuesday, French President Emmanuel Macron renewed his recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara and his support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco, and that the solution to the existing conflict must be under Moroccan sovereignty .
