The Independent Union of Public Sector Doctors has announced that it will launch a national warning strike on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 November 2024 in all healthcare establishments, with the exception of emergency and intensive care units.
This is done in protest against what has been described as the lack of real guarantees to maintain the status of “full public employee” and the deprivation of doctors from a salary increase.
In a press release published yesterday, Sunday, November 3, 2024, the Independent Union of Public Sector Doctors denounced the government’s continued withdrawal from its previous commitments and promises, particularly after developments linked to the 2025 Finance Law, adding: “This law requires health groups to finance workers’ salaries instead of covering them from the general budget. “This constitutes a direct violation of the legal guarantees aimed at protecting the rights and achievements of professionals. »
The union also expressed its dissatisfaction with the government’s inability to respond to its repeated requests for dialogue, despite the agreements already signed on demands with financial impact, in addition to guarantees on the legal status of employees in the sector, noting that he “sees that it is necessary to rush to issue decisions and laws without dialogue is an attempt to impose a fait accompli. » “This poses a threat to the income of healthcare workers. »
The Independent Union of Public Sector Doctors said that as a result, it would refrain from providing driving license certificates and granting any type of medical certificate, except sickness certificates accompanying treatment, and that he would also boycott the OSIX program and similar programs.
