The local authority of the city of Tetouan has allocated, as part of its budget for the year 2025, around 132 million centimes, in order to fight against “rats and mosquitoes”.
The Collective Council increased the 12 million centimes which were allocated during the last budget for the year 2024, from 120 million to 132 million centimes during the 2025 financial year.
This increase in financial allocations is accompanied by requests from residents to increase the quality of services and to work towards compliance with environmental standards in the use of pesticides against insects and parasites of all kinds.
City residents lived or visited the city under the influence of the spread of large swarms of mosquitoes and rats, which negatively affected the city’s tourist attractiveness, especially last summer, when the city experienced a tourist boom quickly affected by insects and parasites. and rats climbing sewer canals, which threatened the comfort of its visitors and required the mobilization of members of the Department of Health Preservation, on approximately 132 million centimeters, to fight against “rats and mosquitoes” .
