“Towards improving patient care and raising community awareness” is the slogan of the activities of the Third Regional Hemophilia Awareness Forum, organized by the branch of the Moroccan Association of People Affected by Hemophilia. hemophilia in the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region, in partnership with the Regional Council, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Association of Public Health Physicians of Tétouan and M’diq, the 6 and November 7 in the city of Tetouan.
Experts, doctors, community activists and patient families participated in these events, which shed light on the disease and its effects on the lives of those infected, while continuing to advocate for this group in society , in order to guarantee his right. to treatment, care and care, so as to make their lives and those of their families less complicated and more stable.
In a statement to the press by the president of the Moroccan Association of People with Hemophilia, Hassan Al-Marani Al-Alawi, that this chronic and financially costly disease always makes those affected vulnerable to danger, stressing that such forums contribute to advocacy to improve care for those affected, especially in view of the high costs of treatment, which constitute a burden for patients and their families, despite the efforts of the ministry, which has made great efforts, in particular by creating hospital centers for hemophilia patients in certain Moroccan cities.
It should be noted that hemophilia, or hemophilia, is a genetic disease characterized by prolonged bleeding in the event of injury or mild trauma. This prolonged bleeding leads to significant damage, particularly to the joints, causing muscle dysfunction which can lead to disability.
For his part, the head of the regional branch of the Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima region of the Moroccan Association of People with Hemophilia, Mr. Amine Ziani, indicated that this forum, organized over two days, brought together a group of scientific and awareness experts. -organize presentations and seminars for the benefit of families and medical personnel, led by experts and specialized doctors, in order to help raise awareness of this disease which affects more than 3,000 people in Morocco, including more than 100 in Morocco. northern region.
Al-Zayani indicated that, alongside the awareness and support aspect, this forum constituted an opportunity to continue the organizational reflection of the Moroccan Association of People with Hemophilia at the level of the Tetouan branch, in addition to deepening the discussion on the prospects of partnership between the association and the Association of Public Health Physicians of Tetouan to exchange experiences with a view to improving the diagnostic conditions of patients, emphasizing the importance of the role of the association which will remain complementary to the work of official institutions in supporting patients and advocating for their right to treatment, particularly for those who live in remote areas or suffer from fragility.
