On Monday, the Rabat court of first instance sentenced the journalist and publishing director of the “Badil” site, Hamid Al Mahdawi, to an effective prison sentence and a fine.
The court handed down a sentence of one and a half years of effective imprisonment against El Mahdaoui and civil compensation amounting to 150 million centimes for the Minister of Justice, Abdel Latif Wehbe.
Al-Mahdawi was accused of disseminating and distributing false allegations and facts with the aim of defaming the population, slandering and publicly insulting.
