The International Scientific Forum on the Social and Solidarity Economy, which was held under the slogan “Social and Solidarity Economy: innovation and areas: all combinations for integrated and sustainable development”, concluded on November 14 and 15 in Oujda, during which all participants highlighted the promising and pioneering role of the social and solidarity economy in achieving integrated, innovative and sustainable development.
This forum, which saw a distinguished and balanced participation of representatives of government sectors, scientific research institutions, social and solidarity economy organizations, researchers and experts, in addition to the presence of representatives of certain countries African and European countries, underlined the importance of the social sector and solidarity economy system to achieve sustainable development at local and regional, national and continental levels.
The forum’s work resulted in the following recommendations and conclusions:
1. Institutionalize the convergence between government actors, the private sector and the components of the social and solidarity economy in accordance with the results of the new development model;
2. The adequacy of the legal and legislative arsenal to stimulate investment and entrepreneurship in the field of the social and solidarity economy;
3. Support and encourage scientific research and innovation in the areas of the social and solidarity economy and strengthen the role of universities and scientific research institutions in this area;
4. Create territorial hubs of the social and solidarity economy concerned with developing value chains for social economy businesses between the different stakeholders;
5. Improve financing opportunities for the social and solidarity economy by creating diversified and appropriate mechanisms that take into account regional and sectoral specificities, with the contribution of all partners, including public actors, the private sector, society civil society and regional and international cooperation partners. .
. 6. Promote practices and promote the values and principles of the social and solidarity economy through the educational, educational and media system, while benefiting from Moroccan cultural and social heritage and being open to successful international experiences;
7. Strengthening the capacities and qualification of human resources of social and solidarity economy institutions in the field of entrepreneurship.);
8. Establish mechanisms to improve the performance of social and solidarity economy organizations with the aim of improving their products and encouraging their consumption at local, regional, national and international levels;
9. Strengthen the role of the social and solidarity economy in the preservation of natural resources and the preservation of the tangible and intangible heritage of the Kingdom of Morocco;
10. Strengthen and consolidate Morocco’s position on the continent in the field of the social and solidarity economy;
11. Accelerate the establishment of the National Observatory of the Social and Solidarity Economy to produce macroeconomic indicators.
Forum participants unanimously agreed to view these recommendations as a roadmap that requires the combined efforts of all stakeholders to implement them. The Forum also recommended the need to continue this consultative framework to monitor the implementation of these recommendations and monitor future developments related to the social and solidarity economy.
