2026 World Cup Qualifications: All the information
A total of 54 selections will try to win their ticket to the greatest World Cup of all time. The latter were divided into 12 groups comprising four or five formations. The deal is simple: the first in each group will go directly to North America while the second will be entitled to a second chance by participating in the play-offs. They will be accompanied by four teams surviving from the last UEFA Nations League who would not have managed to finish first or second in their group.
The first meetings will take place in March 2025, the full schedule will be communicated later. Note that this draw has not revealed all its secrets because the eight teams which will participate in the quarter-finals of the League of Nations in March – Spain, Germany, Portugal, France, Italy , the Netherlands, Denmark and Croatia – will only be assigned to their respective groups based on whether or not they appear in the semi-final of the event.
