Moroccan international Yassine Bounou, goalkeeper of Al Hilal Saudi Arabia, defended the Moroccan players after the CAF 2024 Awards ceremony, which was held last night, Monday, in Marrakech.
In a remarkable move, the Atlas Lions goalkeeper published photos of 4 Moroccan stars via the “Story” section on the “Instagram” platform, a few hours after the Nigerian Ademola Lookman, the Atalanta striker , was crowned African Ballon d’Or this year.
The photos posted by Bono included Ashraf Hakimi, the French star of Paris Saint-Germain, Ibrahim Diaz, the Spanish player of Real Madrid, Sufyan Rahimi, the Emirati star of Al Ain and Ayoub El Kaabi, the Greek striker of Olympiacos.
Through this approach, Bono designated 4 big Moroccan names who deserved to be crowned African Ballon d’Or for the year 2024, taking into account the great level that these names achieved during the year, whether with their clubs or with the Moroccan national team.
