The National Police of Seville arrested 13 people
Of Moroccan nationality, they are accused of falsifying documents linked to fraudulent requests to obtain a residence permit for family reunification, or what is called “family reunification”.
The detainees are members of the same family, relatives residing in the same area, who attempted to regularize the situation of their acquaintances in Spain by falsifying documents to bring in their relatives, including spouses and children, adults and minors.
The case concerned 30 people, including minors, who submitted their applications for family reunification through the same law firm, which aroused the suspicions of the National Police.
In cooperation with the town hall, the falsity of several key documents justifying the legitimacy of the requests was discovered. Among the fake documents were residence certificates, registration certificates and housing rental agreements, all of which are used to prove that applicants have. habitable accommodation, which is one of the basic conditions for obtaining a residence permit.
Once the falsification of documents was confirmed, the police proceeded to arrest the thirteen people involved and requested the cancellation of all residence cards fraudulently obtained through these illegal procedures.
Furthermore, the authorities do not rule out that the case will give rise to new arrests, as the investigation remains open and the National Police continue to work to identify other possible participants and clarify all aspects of this operation.
