The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced today Tuesday the postponement to August 2025 of the 2024 African Nations Championship (Channel Club), scheduled to take place in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
CAF explained in an official statement that the host countries have made remarkable progress in the development of infrastructure, including stadiums, training grounds, hotels and health facilities. However, African Union experts indicated that more time was needed to ensure that these infrastructures and facilities were prepared to the level required for the success of the tournament.
The press release underlines that this decision aims to ensure the organization of a quality competition meeting the aspirations of African football supporters.
