The Swiss company “Synhelion” is preparing to implement an investment project worth $ 1 billion in Morocco, aimed at developing an artificial fuel based on sustainable solar energy, within the framework of global efforts To improve environmental innovations and support clean energies.
The project depends on the technique “from sun to liquid”, where solar radiation is focused through huge mirrors directed towards a thermal tower, which will allow the generation of heat of more than 1000 degrees Celsius.
This high temperature allows the conversion of carbon dioxide and clean fuel water, such as petrol, plane fuel and diesel, which is a qualitative boom in the renewable energies sector.
An advanced industrial unit capable of producing 100,000 tonnes per year of solar fuel will be established in a project which aims to strengthen the location of Morocco as a major actor in the field of renewable energies.
In terms of funding, the project will depend on a mixture of banking investments and the sale of shares, with the possibility of taking advantage of the government’s support to facilitate its completion.
This ambitious project has the support of major international companies, such as “Lufthansa”, and Italian energy “Eni”, as well as the “AMG” group, the largest importer of cars in Switzerland, which will improve the position of Morocco as An attractive destination for investments in the sustainable energy sector.
