The City of Essaouira is a real world reference in terms of intercultural dialogue, tolerance and peaceful coexistence, said on Saturday in Bayt Dakira, the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Patricia del Pozo Fernández.

“Essaouira is a singular example of the way in which culture and spirituality can serve as bridges between peoples. Here, tolerance and harmonious coexistence are not simple ideals, but a reality rooted in everyday life, ”she said.
Considering itself from “the excellence of deep historical and cultural relations between Andalusia and Morocco”, the regional minister highlighted the central role of the three cultures of the Mediterranean, co-organizer of the event, in strengthening these links.
“We share a common heritage of invaluable wealth. Our arts, our cultures and our crafts are living witnesses of this story, and it is by valuing this heritage that we will continue to build bridges between our societies, “added Ms. Del Pozo Fernández, in a statement to the press.
Furthermore, the Spanish official has delighted the commitment of local actors in preserving and enhancing the exceptional heritage of Essaouira, noting that the “soul of cultures” festival perfectly illustrates the vocation of the city as a land of opening and living together.
