Officially… Vladimir Putin re-elected president of Russia for a fifth term

Russia’s Central Election Commission announced Monday that Russian President Vladimir Putin won his fifth term in office with a record number of votes.
Russia’s Central Election Commission said Monday that after almost 100 percent of all polling stations were counted, Putin received 87.29 percent of the vote. Central Election Commission Chairman Ella Pamfilova said nearly 76 million voters voted in favor of Putin, the largest number of votes ever recorded for Putin.
