What future for Gabon at the edge of the presidential election of April 12, 2025?
It seems that the current is pushing towards a relative inauguration of General Brice Oligui Nguema, who has been at the head of Gabon since the 2023 putsch because the latter insists on wanting to continue to “rebuild the country”, will the others be convinced of this interpretation?
The fact remains, in Gabon, the National Organizational Commission and Coordination of the Elections validated 4 applications on 23 files for the presidential election of April 12, 2025. Among the Challengers of General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, head of the transition, Figure Alain Claude Billie By Nze, last Prime Minister of the fallen power.
The end of the examination of the files also put 4 women out of the race and who engaged for the first time in the presidential race.
But the principal comes from General Brice Oligui Nguema, who has been at the head of Gabon since the 2023 putsch against the Bongo dynasty, and who has therefore just confirmed his candidacy for the presidential election of April 12. He said he wanted to continue “rebuilding the country”, after the adoption by referendum last November of a new constitution.
