Morocco-EU Green Partnership: “Decarbonization, issues and procedures for Moroccan companies”

At the opening of a conference initiated by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) under the theme “Decarbonization, issues and procedures for Moroccan companies”, the head of cooperation at the EU delegation, Jean Christophe Filori declared that “Morocco has taken the climate emergency to heart as evidenced by its exemplary commitments, particularly on adherence to the objectives of the 2015 Paris agreement and this is why Morocco and the EU are committed to working together.

The Morocco-EU Green Partnership, launched in 2021, constitutes a cooperation framework to support the transition towards more sustainable modes of production and consumption, to jointly face the challenges of ecological transition and the climate emergency, while supporting the growth and economic recovery efforts of both partners after the Covid-19 crisis.

This is why he underlined the major importance of the bilateral green partnership, the first of its kind in the world, concluded in support of the reforms undertaken by the Kingdom in the areas of Renewable and new Energy.

The conference, initiated by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) under the theme “Decarbonization, issues and procedures for Moroccan companies”, was an opportunity to highlight the relevance of the Moroccan approach in the field. of the ecological transition and the climate emergency, by exposing the financing tools offered by the EBRD and the European Union (EU) to support businesses.
