Heba Press – Muhammad Zaruh
Yesterday, on Thursday, June 19, the Spanish civil guard services arrested two people suspected of their responsibility for the death of a child subject to an electric shock while playing on a rubber bed at the festival of the city of Alcieas in Morsie.
Detainees are faced with accusations related to involuntary murder due to serious negligence, in addition to four other accusations related to the injury of other children.
For its part, the Court of First Instance No. 4 of the Morsie decided to open a judicial investigation into the accident, in the context of the accident during the festival. In the context of surveys, the identity of the supposed officials of the installation or supervision of the electrical game equipment which caused the tragic accident was identified.
Initial surveys indicate that the cause of the electric shock can be caused by a grounding system, which requires the examination of electrical connections and the rest of the equipment related to the game. While the security authorities continue to examine the evidence to guarantee a precise understanding of the circumstances that led to the accident.
The survey shows a conflict of declarations between local and regional authorities, as the municipality of Alkerias has confirmed that technical responsibility belongs to the regional authority specializing in energy. While the competent authority of regional energy insists that the local group is responsible for licenses and monitoring activities within the festival.
On the other hand, no official request was registered by the local group to obtain a license for these games by the regional administration, which increases the complexity of issues related to legal and technical responsibility. Several questions are asked about the procedures followed in these events.
Judicial inquiries in this case should reveal the precise responsibilities linked to the negligence which has led to this tragedy, which indicates the presence of gaps in the management and safety of participants in recreational activities. When surveys are likely to determine the gaps in the authorities concerned.
In the midst of these tragic events, popular requests intensified with the responsibility of civil servants and people involved in the accident, in order to guarantee that these calamities are not repeated in the future and to ensure the safety of children and participants in such events.
