In a surprising development, an investigating judge at the Court of Appeal in Rabat ordered, last Friday, the closure of the borders to the Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in Fes, placing him under judicial supervision twice a week. This action follows an investigation into serious accusations against him.
The judicial decision came after a shocking complaint filed by a tourism investor and a Member of Parliament from the PAM party in Moulay Yaacoub province. The complaint accuses the judicial official of abuse of power, bribery, and extortion through the fabrication of malicious files and complaints against him. Sources confirmed that these measures are precautionary, pending further investigation with the Deputy Public Prosecutor, starting October 1st. This makes the case likely to see further surprises and developments that could shake public opinion.
