The decree implementing the law enacting specific measures relating to the direct marketing of fruits and vegetables produced within the framework of the agricultural aggregation system, aims to ensure the opening of this sector “exceptionally” in order to reform, regulate and rehabilitate wholesale markets, said Thursday the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas.

This project essentially aims to allow aggregators, on the basis of licenses, to market their products “on an exceptional basis” without necessarily going through wholesale markets, Mr. Baitas specified during a press briefing at the end of the Advice.

The opening of this sector will be carried out under certain conditions, including the establishment of a central commission bringing together a number of ministries, in particular the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development , Water and Forests, and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, which will examine the applications submitted, he explained. “Once approval has been granted, the regional commissions will proceed to control the quality of the products and their compliance with the conditions laid down by the decree,” he said, noting that the licenses will subsequently be extended or withdrawn in accordance with the stipulated deadlines.
