In a qualitative operation, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie in Asfi, under the direct supervision of the regional commander, were able to thwart an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of hashish in the coastal area of Badozza.
The operation resulted in the seizure of two vehicles loaded with approximately one and a half tons of drugs that were prepared for smuggling via the sea ports of the region. This operation came after a precise tracking of the movements of the suspected network, where a tight ambush was set up which enabled the seizure of the important quantity of drugs that was on its way to illegal export. This security strike falls within the framework of the intensive efforts exerted by the Royal Gendarmerie in combating international drug smuggling networks and enhancing surveillance on the Moroccan coasts, especially with the increasing attempts to smuggle via the sea. The competent public prosecutor's office has opened a judicial investigation to reveal the rest of those involved and dismantle the potential extensions of this criminal network, in a step that confirms the continuation of security vigilance and strictness in the face of organized crime.
