Rashid Al-Khalfi, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, confirmed that the public forces began on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in a number of regions of the Kingdom, a set of operations and systematic interventions aimed at preserving public security and order, in which they were keen to manage the movement of these forms of protest in a way that ensures the protection of public security and order on the one hand, and the prevention of any threat to the security and safety of citizens on the other hand, in addition to taking all necessary measures to safeguard individual and collective rights and freedoms.
Al-Khalfi explained, in a statement to the media, on Wednesday, that some of these forms of protest witnessed a dangerous escalation that affected public security and order, after they turned into violent gatherings in which a group of people used white weapons, Molotov cocktails, and stone-throwing, which caused, until yesterday evening, the injury of 263 members of the public forces with varying degrees of injuries, and 23 other people, including a case that required medical follow-up in Oujda, in addition to arson and causing serious damage to 142 vehicles belonging to the public forces and 20 private cars.
The protesters also stormed, Mr. Al-Khalfi added, a number of administrations, institutions, banking agencies and commercial stores, and carried out acts of looting and vandalism inside them, in Ait Amira in the province of Chtouka Ait Baha, and the province of Inezgane Ait Melloul, and Agadir Ida Outanane, and Tiznit and Oujda.
Moreover, according to the official, some protesters in the city of Oujda intercepted an ambulance belonging to the Civil Protection and prevented it from providing assistance and transporting the injured.
In detail:
– The prefecture of Inezgane Ait Melloul: 69 members of the public forces were injured, and 3 vehicles belonging to these forces and 4 private cars were damaged. In addition to 3 bank agencies, an insurance agency, a pharmacy and a group of commercial stores.
– The prefecture of Oujda Angad: 51 members were injured and 40 cars were damaged, and two commercial premises.
– The prefecture of Skhirat-Temara: 44 members were injured and 47 vehicles belonging to the public forces, and 13 private cars were damaged.
– The province of Beni Mellal: 28 members were injured and 7 vehicles belonging to the public forces were damaged.
– The province of Rachidia: 13 members were injured, and 8 cars were damaged.
– The province of Berkane: 10 members were injured, and 12 vehicles belonging to the public forces were damaged.
– The province of Tiznit: 8 members were injured, and one private car was damaged.
– The province of Kenitra: 8 members.
– The province of Chtouka Ait Baha: 5 members were injured, and 12 vehicles belonging to the public forces and other private cars were damaged.
– The prefecture of Rabat: 5 members were injured.
– The province of Guelmim: 5 members were injured, and one car was damaged.
– The province of Nador: four members were injured, and 10 vehicles belonging to the public forces were damaged.
– The province of Khénifra: 4 members were injured.
– The prefecture of Meknes: 4 members were injured, and one vehicle belonging to the public forces was damaged.
– The province of Ouarzazate: two members were injured.
– The prefecture of Casablanca: two members were injured, and one private car was damaged.
– The province of Taroudant: one member was injured, and one car was damaged.
The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior confirmed that those who insisted on violating security arrangements were dealt with, in accordance with the law, where some were subjected to identity verification procedures under the supervision of the Public Prosecution, to be released immediately after the completion of the legal procedure. While 409 people were placed under custody by the instructions of the competent Public Prosecution.
He pointed out that some regions of the Kingdom had witnessed, in recent days, the organization of forms of demonstration and gathering in the public street, which took place outside the legal framework, in response to unknown sources via social media, where the public forces intervened to disperse these gatherings in a way that ensured full respect for the legal provisions and professional controls that govern their work.
While the Ministry of Interior is keen to clarify these data to the national public opinion, Mr. Al-Khalfi adds, it confirms, in return, that the public authorities have remained and will remain committed to performing their duty in a spirit of responsibility in safeguarding public order, and ensuring the exercise of rights and freedoms, including the freedom of peaceful demonstration, within its legitimate scope and within the specified legal frameworks and will continue, as required by institutional responsibility, procedures for protecting public security and order, as required by that, restraint and self-control and not to be drawn into provocation on the one hand, and as required by that, careful respect for legal texts and professional controls on the other hand.
It must also be emphasized, concludes the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, that all those who are proven to have committed acts or behaviors that fall under the penalty of law will be dealt with firmly and rigorously and in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, with all legal responsibilities and effects being arranged in light of the procedures and judicial procedures and under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution.
